How to play Curbstone Cribbage.
Object: Find patterns in license plate numbers and get the highest score per round.
- Patterns are runs (456) and sets (888). Score one point per scoring character in each pattern.
- Sequential runs must be 3 characters (678) or more.
- Same-character sets must be 2 characters (00) or more.
- Characters do not have to be adjacent or in order to be scorable.
- A character can score more than once if it appears in a set and run(s).
- Bonus points.
- One bonus point for a plate with all characters scoring.
- One bonus point for self-descriptive amount. For example three 3s (333) scores one bonus point for the quantity/character match above the 3 points for the set.
- By this same logic, a single character one (1) on a plate is also worth one bonus point. Hooray.
- Optional rules.
- A two character sequential run scores half a point. Used mainly as a tie-breaker.
- A zero can "wrap" a run linking a 9 with a 1. i.e. (901)
- By the self-descriptive rule (See 2a), zero character zeroes (0) on a plate is worth zero bonus points. Ha, just kidding, take one point.
Example: Try to score this plate.
